Dr. Dorion is a native of Massachusetts and graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. He was a member of the Men’s Varsity Basketball team at Brandeis University prior to relocating to Chapel Hill, NC.
Upon completion of his undergraduate program, Dr. Dorion teamed up with a craniofacial research group studying the impact of cleft lip revision surgery on speech and lip function. Dr. Dorion was chosen by his peers at UNC Adams School of Dentistry to serve as class president for all four years of his general dental training. He continued advanced training with specialized focus in dental implant surgery, dental implant surgery, and sedation in the Department of Periodontology at UNC Adams School of Dentistry.
Dr. Dorion served as Chief Resident his third year of Periodontics residency. He also worked as a general dentist prior to graduation from the Periodontics program. He simultaneously completed a Master of Public Health degree in Health Policy and Management at the prestigious UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health.
Dr. Dorion is certified to provide IV, nitrous oxide and oral sedation. He serves on advisory boards at both UNC Chapel Hill and Wake Technical Community College. Dr. Dorion enjoys literacy outreach and volunteering at community safety-net dental clinics.
