Dr. Liliana Gandini is a specialist who can provide you with cutting-edge solutions that are as comfortable as they are effective. She is a periodontist who is a specialist in providing dental implants. Her knowledge and experience allow her to create the most advantageous treatment plans for all her patients.
Dr. Gandini earned her dental degree in Bogota, Colombia. In addition, she received her Doctor in Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the University of Puerto Rico. At the University of Rochester in 1993, she completed a two-year program in Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) as well as her post-graduate periodontal specialty training at the Eastman Dental Center.
During her periodontal training she was actively involved in several clinical research projects with emphasis in aggressive forms of Periodontitis and Guided Tissue Regeneration. Dr. Gandini served as clinical professor at the Eastman Dental Center and the University of Puerto Rico. She has published various scientific articles in peer-reviewed periodontal journals. Dr. Gandini has practiced periodontics and implant surgery since 1993. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
Dr. Gandini is member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Periodontology, the North Carolina Dental Society, the North Carolina Society of Periodontists and the Durham-Orange Dental Society. She was also recently appointed as Consulting Associate Professor of Surgery (Periodontics and Dental Implants) at Duke University. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology (Board Certified). A Diplomate is a periodontist who has made significant achievements beyond the mandatory educational requirements of the specialty and who is certified by The American Board of Periodontology.
Dr. Gandini is passionate about her profession and enjoys providing periodontal health to her patients. She practices a full scope of periodontal procedures including non-surgical and surgical techniques to treat all types of periodontal diseases, cosmetic periodontal procedures, placement and repair of implants, ridge augmentation, sinus lift, canine exposures, gingival grafting including tunneling technique, atraumatic extractions and site preservation, crown lengthening and biopsies among others. Dr. Gandini uses the latest technology in 3D imaging and offers the alternative of oral sedation for those patients that need it.
